Four Night Cruise
It may only be 4 nights, but the dilemma can be the same. What do I really need, and what are my "must-haves."For your day ashore
While in the Caribbean, these items are always a good idea:
- Camera/cell phone for photos....so don't forget the chargers.
- Sea Pass PLUS photo ID....you will need both to get back on the ship.
- You will receive your Sea Pass upon check-in. Your photo will be imbedded in the bar code, but security at the port needs to see an official government photo ID to match with the Sea Pass.
- Your Sea Pass is scanned as you board, and scanned as you leave. The ship always knows if you are aboard or not. Sorry, no stowaways at the end of our cruise!
- The Sea Pass will be your "charge card" as the ship is cash-less. The last night of the cruise you will receive a summary of your charges. These charges will be billed to your card on file. You may also see your balance on your television set Account Channel.
- There is ONE credit card on the cabin when you arrive. However, each person in the cabin may have their own credit card on file for expenses. See Customer Relations desk.
- Should you wish to purchase anything while on your shore excursion, or in port, use a credit card without foreign transaction fees, or bring cash. Though Cozumel uses the Peso, most popular tourist shops will give you change in dollars. Just ask.
- Insect Repellent
- Just in case the bugs are out and about!
- Comfortable walking shoes
- I prefer closed toe shoes in foreign countries, as they are sensible for getting on and off buses.
- Hat & Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Day bag/tote
NOTE regarding Alcoholic Beverages
- Upon Embarkation you are allowed to bring aboard 2 bottles per cabin of WINE or CHAMPAGNE in your carry-on luggage. Not beer, not soft drinks, not hard liquor. Bring a travel corkscrew, and open only in your cabin. Your cabin steward will also uncork for you. You may, however, walk around the ship with the wine in your wine glass (glasses are in your cabin and will be replaced by your cabin steward, should you wish to deposit your used glass elsewhere on the ship). If you take your wine bottle anywhere else on the ship, the corkage fee is $25 per bottle.
- Should you wish to purchase duty-free liquor ashore, the ship will take the package when you board, seal it, identify it, and it will be available for you to pick up the last night of the cruise.
In Your Carry-on Bag
- Cruise Documents & Passports
- Medications - include Dramamine and pressure point wrist bands if easily affected by motion.
- Wine/Champagne if applicable (Concierge cabins have a complimentary bottle of bubbly, everyone is greeted with a glass of bubbly when boarding)
- One change of clothes & shoes (in case your primary bag goes missing)
- Jewelry & Electronics & Cosmetics
- Tiny personal flashlight (for any emergency)
- Lanyard or wristlet to keep your Sea Pass handy.
In your Primary Bag
- Bathing suit for hot tubs, pools, sauna (a cover-up to go to buffet or other areas of ship)
- Flip-flops to wear to pool or spa
- Dining room dress code: "smart casual" collar on men's shirts, no cut-offs, no flip-flops, no baseball caps, no t-shirts, no shorts, no tank tops.
- One night will be "evening chic" dress code for dinner: party or cocktail dress, dress pants, sweater or blouse. Some ladies wear tropical attire, others will opt for sequins. Both are acceptable. Men wear dress shirt or sweater with optional sport coat. If you wish to opt out of the dining room, you are welcome to be casual at other dining venues other than specialty dining.
- For early morning or night-time evening strolls on the promenade, you may wish to bring a wrap, sweater, or light jacket. Even when the temps are warm, the winds over the water may make it seem cooler.
- Sometimes in the theatre or restaurants you may want a wrap, sweater, or light jacket.
